You know our Executive Director, Jennifer Friend? Well, if you haven’t heard her story yet, you are in luck, because Coast Magazine just published an amazing piece about her. Go ahead and read it! As Jennifer says, “there really is power in telling your story because you find out the story isn’t really about you, it’s about other people who don’t have a voice to tell theirs yet.”

So yes, it’s her story. But, more importantly, it’s the story of the children we serve, and they deserve to have that story told.

Jo-Jo the Film Brings the Story of Motel Children to Light

An incredible friend of Project Hope, Lisa Parker-Meredith, has put the experience of Orange County motel children onto film. Jo-Jo may be a fictional story, but the premise is very, very real. Head out to the Newport Beach Film Festival on Sunday, April 28th at 6PM. Watch an amazing film, support a courageous filmmaker and bring this cause to light.

Outstanding Youth Recycler Supports Project Hope Alliance

This Earth Day, “Local Heroes of Recycling” selected Vanis Buckholz as their outstanding Youth Recycler. The Project Hope team thinks they made a pretty incredible choice. Vanis not only started his own recycling business at the age of 7, but he also donates the proceeds to Project Hope Alliance! In Vanis’ words, “It’s so easy to do nothing. But it’s really good to do something!” We agree wholeheartedly, Vanis. Congratulations!

Spirit of Volunteerism Awards Lynn Hemans

Remember the incredible campus makeover at Skyview School? Well, the Orange County Register remembers it, too! Yesterday, in a special edition spotlighting exceptional volunteers, the OC Register recognized our very own board member, Lynn Hemans, for her work to overhaul the Skyview campus. She was also honored with a Spirit of Volunteerism Award for these efforts. Lynn, you rock!

School on Wheels Joins the Team

Ueberroth Foundation Gives $25,000 to the Education Program

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to The Ueberroth Family Foundation who just invested a tremendous grant of $25,000 in Project Hope Alliance. This impactful partnership will allow for us to dramatically expand our Education Program’s outreach to homeless children in Orange County. Point in Time Volunteer Fair

On April 20, organizations and volunteers from across Orange County with commitments to serving homeless populations participated in the Point in Time Celebration & Volunteer Fair. The Project Hope Alliance staff used this opportunity to spread the word about our mission. Thanks to all of the visitors who kept our table busy!

Our Grandparents at the Willows Community
