Starting out, I was aware of the potential positive effects I would make on this person's life, but receiving similar effects back came as a total surprise and such a gift. As adults, we get so caught up in our daily adult stresses. The time spent with my mentee brings me back to earth and reminds me of the purity, fun, and joy that this life has to offer.
John recalls his strong desire to quit school just a couple of months into his senior year in September 2016. He was rapidly falling behind in class; homework and life overall were hard. He remembers feeling like there was no point to keep pushing to finish, except for a persistent voice in his head that said, "I really want to graduate."
(August 17, 2017) -- Project Hope Alliance, a Costa Mesa-based nonprofit that helps the homeless, will be providing services for Wesley Village, a recently unveiled affordable-housing community in Garden Grove. Project Hope Alliance will provide family and individual counseling, housing and financial support, education support services, transportation assistance, a food pantry, extracurricular activities and more. We are proud to announce that we have partnered with Jamboree Housing Corporation to expand our services to Wesley Village, a unique multi-use urban campus in Garden Grove. The multigenerational affordable housing community will offer educational, social, and health services to residents, as well as the larger community.
(August 11, 2017) -- Jacob Shaw, owner of The Shamba Way gym in Costa Mesa, has a big heart. Family, friends, and community are paramount to him. He is fueled by his passion to help people and does this daily by coaching individuals in fitness and nutrition to transform their lives. He believes we experience greater achievements when we work together.
