1) What is your why?
I feel passionate about the importance of empowering today's youth, and having the ability to provide guidance and advice to a young person's life. As a kid, I was fortunate to have a couple of people to look up to and guide me in a positive direction, and some of those lessons stick with me to this day. I understand how impactful a mentor can be to a kid's life.
2) What component of Bright Start do you most enjoy with your mentee?
The friendship that develops once you get to know each other and witnessing the joy you bring them when you see their smile. You really feel it in your heart.
3) What is your favorite mentoring moment to date?
Not one that I can honestly claim. We make favorite moments each visit, and that's the honest truth! We have a blast.
4) In what ways has mentoring impacted your life?
Starting out, I was aware of the potential positive effects I would make on this person's life, but receiving similar effects back came as a total surprise and such a gift. As adults, we get so caught up in our daily adult stresses. The time spent with my mentee brings me back to earth and reminds me of the purity, fun, and joy that this life has to offer.
5) Who are you when you're not changing the lives of our young learners?
I work for a family-owned skincare company out of Laguna Hills. I am also a student at Orange Coast College (OCC) in marketing and advertising. In my spare time, I love being active outdoors, like hiking and bike riding. I love to travel to new places, and I enjoy cooking and eating with friends and family.
