A Note From Our CEO: Announcing 'Our Kids' Monthly Vodcast Series

While having pizza with a friend last December, an idea was born to bring national issues facing our children to the local level via national experts. Enter "Our Kids," a new monthly vodcast series co-hosted by myself; Nicole Suydam, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Second Harvest Food Bank; and Tracy Carmichael, Ph.D., Chief Engagement Officer of THINK Together

The groundbreaking series is produced and funded by University of California, Irvine (UCI), my alma mater and an extraordinary institution committed to serving as a bridge to the community and harnessing its resources to help meet the needs of the community. Without UCI, this platform would never have been possible. "Our Kids" is sponsored by three departments at UCI: Office of the Chancellor, Blum Center for Poverty Alleviation, and Division of Undergraduate Education.

Every month, a co-host will bring a critical topic to the table and lead an engaging 20-minute discussion. National thought leaders, such as Erin Ingram, Policy Advisor for Civic Enterprises, and Lisa Davis, Senior Vice President of Government Relations for Feeding America, will also lend their voices to the project. Subjects include homeless students in America's public schools, child hunger, and more. Vodcast are available at www.projecthopealliance.org/ourkids every second week of the month.

As Chief Executive Officer of Project Hope Alliance, I am extremely excited about this new opportunity to educate and activate our community to bring innovative, effective, and sustainable solutions to the challenges facing our kids.

I am overwhelmingly grateful for UCI's support of this concept, and honored to sit around a dynamic table with such passionate, intelligent, and inspiring local leaders—for the kids.

We hope you will join us at the table.
