Who: Ana Aguilar
Role: Case Manager
Team Kid Player Since: January 2014
1) What is your why?
My passion is to make an impact on our children when it comes to education, whether it is to provide school supplies and/or connect them to a tutor and provide continuous support. The fact that I can connect with not only the children, but with the entire family, and create that trust as their case manager is rewarding. The families, their strides toward their goals, and the smiles and hugs are priceless.
2) Favorite Team Kid memory?
My favorite memory with Team Kid is when we experienced "The Twelfth Night" as part of the New Swan Shakespeare Festival at University of California, Irvine, with our families we serve here at Project Hope Alliance. We had dinner with the families and enjoyed the play. Being able to sit and have dinner with the families and interact with them on a level not only as a case manager, but as a friend, sure is a great feeling.
3) What gives you hope?
What gives me hope is that I can make an impact on our families, and hopefully with the tools gained in our programs, they are able to maintain being self-sufficient for not only themselves, but for their family. Also, what gives me hope are the children; these children have the sky as their limit. Being able to witness their growth and appreciate what these children have is what makes me love what I do.
4) How do you celebrate you?
I celebrate me in being able to do what I enjoy. My favorite hobby is playing soccer on the weekends. And most importantly, spending time with my family. I am so blessed to have such an amazing support system. Being a first-time mommy, I absolutely love spending as much time as I can with my baby boy. I love being a mommy!
