The second annual Newport Beach Wine and Food Festival was held on October 2-4, 2015, at the Newport Beach Civic Center. The stage for a remarkable weekend of food, wine, and gourmet delights, was set at the launch party that took place on Friday, October 2, at the Oak Grill and Aqua Lounge, and after that everything kicked into high gear.
Wine lovers and connoisseurs alike enjoyed exquisite tastings and demonstrations, but fine wines weren’t the only delights that the festival had to offer. There was also delectable food to be enjoyed, live cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs including Rick Bayless and Rick Moonen, mixology classes, samplings, and seminars.
If that wasn’t enough, 31 of the best restaurants in Orange County were also there to tantalize and satisfy even the most discriminating palates. The over 3,000 guests were not disappointed.
The net proceeds of the event went to benefit Project Hope Alliance, and so the PHA team was on hand to answer any questions, and provide information about the organization. We certainly can’t say enough about the enthusiasm with which guests gave their support. The donations we received will only push us further towards our goal of ending generational homelessness.
As our way of saying thanks for the tremendous support received, donors at the launch party were given a ‘Thank You Box’ containing jewelery by Kendra Scott. We also gave guests orange shopping bags that they could use to carry around their items during the event. They were encouraged to fill those same bags with groceries, and return them to our food pantry for distribution to families and children in need.
On behalf of the homeless children of Newport Beach, we would like to say thanks to the organizers, participants, and guests of the Newport Beach Wine & Food Festival for their generosity, and wish them all continued success.
